NRTA Code of Ethics
The NRTA is a non-profit organization working solely for the betterment of the Rat Terrier. Failure to abide by any of these rules gives the NRTA the right to revoke member's rights and privileges.

*I pledge to abide by the rules set forth to foster the highest standards possible for the breed.

*All members and officials are expected to exhibit good sportsmanship at any and all shows, matches, or any other event in relation to the Rat Terrier.

*Members will always be helpful to their competitors and will not harass or criticize NRTA  Judges, Members or representatives or any other Club or organization.

*No members will make final decisions without first conferring with a Regional Director or District Vice President. The idea will then be presented to the Board of Directors for final approval.

*No members or Officials will post any official NRTA information without first discussing it with headquarters.

*All members that breed will be responsible for the health of their dogs/litters and guarantee the health at the time of sale.

*Breeding is done for the purpose of improvement upon the breed and not monetary gain.

*All breeding stock will be chosen for temperament, conformation and to retain working instinct and ability.

*Abandoned, mistreated and over breeding of dogs are highly discouraged. If proper documentation is submitted to the NRTA of any unethical breeding appropriate action will be taken.

*Breeding Class A to Class B type Rat Terriers is highly discouraged or any other hybrid or crossbreeding that will change our present day Rats.

*Falsification of records on your dog will not be tolerated. This includes registration papers, stud contracts and show wins.

I have read the NRTA Code of Ethics and agree to them. I understand each rule and understand that if I do not abide by them I will be dismissed from membership with the NRTA.
